ABOUT THE COURSE
The two-week Global Integrity Leadership Course (ILC) 2016 is an advanced programme jointly organised by the Malaysian Institute Integrity of (INTEGRITI), Institute of Malaysian and International Studies (IKMAS) of the National University of (UKM) and Integrity Action for senior practitioners, professionals, leaders, academia and civil society from the ASEAN Member States. It focuses on the subject of ethics and integrity in general and applied specifically in the ASEAN environment and context. This is the first of such a leadership course to be offered in the region.

OBJECTIVES
1.To impart the principles, strategies and applied skills necessary to equip practitioners to effectively diagnose integrity gaps;
2.To reflect on and review strategies, plans and instruments for addressing the gaps and enhancing integrity.

APPROACH
Interdisciplinary through case studies with global and local content and context.

COURSE STRUCTURE
The course covers basic concepts of ethics and integrity, identification of integrity gaps and possible solutions as well as monitoring and evaluation of system-based approaches. The course also provides an interactive platform for sharing and reviewing of practices of ethics and integrity in the participants’ respective organisations and countries.

Scholars and practitioners who have pioneered sustainable frameworks and action plans based upon workable models on ethics and integrity will guide the participants throughout the duration of the course.

EXPECTED BENEFITS FOR THE PARTICIPANTS
Each participant will be awarded a Certificate of Attendance together with the transcripts of the course by the three joint-organisers; namely INTEGRITI, IKMAS UKM and Integrity Action upon completing the whole course modules.

The graduating class will enjoy a blossoming network of like-minded professionals in the area of ethics and integrity globally.

WHY THE COURSE IS NECESSARY
The challenges of ethical dilemma and integrity risks are increasingly evident by the many scandals and cases in various parts of the world.  The modern society needs to be guided and duly led by persons of integrity whose character and credibility are beyond reproach. Such leaders do not come by easily and should be cultivated and exposed to a multi-dimension of integrity frameworks and practical solutions. The GILC attempts to identify the integrity gaps by contextualizing the problems and consequences of integrity risks in a well-designed course programmes with tested solutions.
